King Neptune and the Pollywogs

Today crew members crossing the Equator for the first time - pollywogs - were initiated with the passengers watching from every vantage point.  The ceremony was as follows:
  1. The pollywogs are paraded in by "pirates".
  2. Singly and in small groups they are brought before King Neptune.
  3. Their transgressions are announced.

  4. King Neptune sentences them to "kiss the fish!". This is not just a figure of speech.
  5. Next, each pollywog is are cleansed of his/her transgressions.
  6. They are then brought before the ROTTERDAM's captain who decides whether they "swim" or "bake". The former get thrown into the swimming pool; the latter sit beside it letting mess they were coated with dry. Swimming appeared to be the preferable sentence from the captain.

Spectators and participants all seemed to have a good time.
In our travels Pam has crossed (multiple times) every major latitude and longitude except the Arctic and Antarctic Circles. The Antarctic Circle is the only one left on my list.
