We awoke this morning to rain and clouds. The sea state was modest with the ship pitching slightly. Apparent wind over the deck was about 30 knots. While not idyllic cruising, we were so fortunate with the reasonably good weather we had (and horrible weather we narrowly missed having) during our port calls in Hawaii we were prepared to frame today's weather in that context. We did not have to be stoic because by 10:00 AM it was blue sky and hot sun. It remained windy with seas that would have been miserable in anything smaller than a ship.
Location:about 200 NM due south of Kauai
